Horrible experience: the staff forced us to pay more than €80 from the agreed price at check-in, without any warning (neither on the site nor in the confirmation email). I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STRUCTURE.
Let's go in order: I booked for a night at the Loft San Niccolò on the Trip.com website but only when we arrived in Florence for check-in, the manager told us that we would have to pay another €75 for cleaning. Well, there is no problem but I kindly warn you: first we would have liked to see the written request for this extra money to be paid, given that on the confirmation email it was written to pay only €16 on site for the tourist tax and we certainly wouldn't have paid any more money like that, on word of mouth. From that moment on, a real, very long antics orchestrated by the staff members began: there was no written record of the tax to be paid, the boy warned us that it has always worked like this and that many other customers have found themselves in the same situation ( or in the same scam, whatever you prefer). Furthermore, trying to call a girl at the reception, she immediately responds with an aggressive and rude tone, telling us that "either we pay that money or we leave", without getting a refund, then hanging up the phone in our faces without the possibility of counter. At that point, the reception boy's brilliant idea arrived: he would go away, busy as he was with other check-ins, without leaving us the keys, perhaps locking us in while waiting for the payment of the tax (which in the meantime had increased, no one knows exactly how, first at €76 and then at €81).
The thing that makes me angry is not the extra money not agreed upon in the booking, but rather the manager's admission that customers have already been screwed like this many other times, because apparently on the Trip.com website there are no references to payments supplementary. So why not edit your loft page and SPEAK CLEARLY AND SINCERELY to your customers? Why not delete the page from the site in question? It is clear that it is convenient for them to grab customers with relatively low prices and then cheat them once they arrive on site.
To top it all: bathtub and bidet with hair and ***** hair clearly visible. In short, €81 for cleaning was definitely well spent.
